Live Talk with ALMA Staff in Chile

The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo held an event titled Scientist Talk “ALMA Telescope-Exploring Mysteries of the Universe through Radio Waves” on April 14, 2012. During the lecture, the speaker talked with a Japanese staff member conducting test observations in Chile by linking the lecture hall to the ALMA Operations Support Facility (OSF) at 2900 m asl, as the first attempt in Japan. From the packed lecture hall, the audience asked her questions related to the high ALMA site, such as physical condition at high altitudes and daily meals, etc.
The event attracted about 200 participants in total, including viewers of the live webcast on Ustream.
