The ALMA Board held its November 2023 meeting on November 15-17, 2023, at the Joint ALMA Observatory (JAO) Santiago Central Office (SCO). This was the last meeting to be held in Professor Tsuneta’s current term as NAOJ Director General, and the Board decided to formally express its gratitude for his contributions since April 2018.

As recorded in the meeting summary:
“The Board expressed its gratitude to Saku Tsuneta, the NAOJ’s Director General for his great contributions to ALMA for his 6 years in the Board and the Director’s Council and gave him the Board’s warmest wishes for his next endeavors.”

Prof. Tsuneta received some presents from the JAO as tokens of appreciation for his contributions to ALMA.
