Yuhito Shibaike Speaks on the Frontiers of Planet Formation Research – Commemorating 160th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Switzerland

On December 11, a lecture organized by the Center for Space and Habitability at the University of Bern was held as part of the events commemorating the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland. Dr. Yuhito Shibaike, a Project Research Fellow of ALMA Project at NAOJ, delivered a lecture titled “Unveiling the Birth of Planets”.

Dr. Shibaike explained how planetary systems form in the Universe, incorporating the latest findings from ALMA observations. He introduced theoretical and observational efforts to unravel the origins of solar system bodies and the growth processes of planets, captivating the audience’s attention.

Dr. Shibaike previously conducted research during his stay in Switzerland and has continued collaborating with the University of Bern after returning to Japan. The significance of international collaboration was evident in this lecture.
