On the second day of OMOSHIRO Science Fair, the ALMA event is continuously being held. In the afternoon, the 17th ALMA Public Lecture titled “Mysteries of the galaxies and planets unveiled by ALMA” was held in the multipurpose hall of the Tsukuba Expo Center. This time, three lectures were given: “On-Site Report of ALMA, Gigantic Radio Telescope of Dreams, Constructed by International Cooperation” by Tetsuo Hasegawa (professor at ALMA-J Project Office); “Exploring the Birth of the Planetary System with ALMA” by Munetake Momose (associate professor at the University of Tsukuba); and “Exploration of the Galactic Center and Black Holes” by Naomasa Nakai (professor at the University of Tsukuba). The picture shows Professor Hasegawa reporting the progress of the ALMA Project. Despite the extremely hot day, the event attracted more than 40 people.
