The 9th ALMA public lecture titled The universe explored by ALMAE the gigantic telescope in the Andes (Part 1)Ewas held at Hitachi Civic Center. The program included: introduction of the ALMA project by Masato Ishiguro, ALMA-J Project Director; lectures titled Our solar system and others: similar or different?Eby Taishi Nakamoto, Associate Professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology; and Challenge to the edge of the universeEby Masayuki Umemura, Professor of University of Tsukuba. The picture shows the lecturers answering the questions from the audience in Q&A session at the end of the program. They were asked many questions about the nature of the universe such as dark energy and dark matter.
