"A bit of Science" at Miraikan

From March 20 through 22, an event titled “A bit of Science” was held by volunteers at Miraikan (The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation) in Tokyo. This event is to provide an opportunity for the public to talk with volunteer speakers about various subjects related to science in a relaxed atmosphere sitting together at a table.
Research Expert Yumi Fujii (SIS Junction Group, ALMA-J Project Office), who is engaged in the development and manufacture of a device for the ALMA receiver, participated in the event as a speaker. She has been participating in this event repeatedly, and it is the third time for her to talk here.
Fujii says, “Though I only talked with a small number of people, I could hear many encouraging words expecting the success of the project. Visitors seemed to have enjoyed the event and leant a lot from talking with speakers. To make more people become familiar with ALMA, I would like to explain the project in plain words to the public including children.”
