ALMA-J All-Hands Meeting

The ALMAJ All-Hands Meeting (and yearend party) was held. In the meeting, we shared the vision toward next year by reviewing this years achievements and current staus of ALMA and of the ALMA-J project. Professor Ryusuke Ogasawara in Chile and Nagayoshi Ohashi, Associate Research Fellow at ASIAA in Taiwan joined the meeting through telephone conference call. The picture shows Satoru Iguchi, assistant professor and ALMAJ project engineer, giving the progress report of the ALMA-J project. In the presentation of Ohashi in Taiwan, he introduced how to express ALMAEand Compact ArrayEin Chinese characters: ALMAEis written with two characters that sound alEand maEand represent back and horse, while Compact ArrayEwith four characters meaning concentrated alignment.
