ALMA Booth at the Japan Geoscience Union Meeting 2013

From May 19 through 24, the Japan Geoscience Union Meeting 2013 was held at the international exhibition hall of Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The ALMA booth ran by NAOJ Chile Observatory attracted many people including those who knew the ALMA telescope by media coverage of the ALMA inauguration in March to mark the start of the ALMA’s full operations. We were asked questions about the current construction status of ALMA and antenna configuration, etc.

At the booth, visitors enjoyed ALMA poster exhibition, construction movie, and leaflets. The picture shows Masaaki Hiramatsu, EPO Officer at the NAOJ Chile Observatory, talking with visitors.
