On January 13 and 14, ALMA Users Meeting 2011 was held in Mitaka Campus of NAOJ, Tokyo. As the Early Science Operations of the ALMA telescope is going to start this year, many researchers and students participated in the meeting to know the ALMA status and information necessary for proposals and observations.
On day 1, the participants were given the progress report of ALMA, instructions on how to submit an observation proposal, and explanations on the users support services. On day 2, the ALMA Observing Tool (OT) and the Common Astronomy Software Applications (CASA, an analysis software for ALMA) were demonstrated by ALMA-J staff members.
