This picture shows the night sky over the ALMA Operations Support Facility (OSF). The antennas are usually illuminated at night for safety, but tonight I turned off the lights for a while after finishing the tests for the day. In the black of night, the Southern Cross and the Milky Way appeared majestically between the ACA antennas. A luminous spot on the horizon is the light of the neighboring town. We can see a beautiful night sky as shown here, even with the naked eye. Here in Chile, we are now in the middle of winter. Shivering with cold, we enjoyed such a magnificent view of a myriad of stars [Picture and texts provided by George Kosugi].
