Mitaka Network University (a joint project between Mitaka City and 14 educational and research institutes in and around the city) holds a series of the astronomical lectures titled Mysteries of the universe explored by ALMA, the gigantic radio telescope in the Andes.EThe first lecturer was Masato Ishiguro, ALMA-J Project Director, and he gave an introduction of radio astronomy and ALMA project as well as its ongoing construction in Chile. The picture shows Professor Ishiguro and the participants. They seemed to enjoy the 90-minute lecture with a small experiment and slide-show presentation.
