From June 6 to June 7, the Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR) for Band 4 and Band 10 was held at the NAOJ Mitaka Campus. As a result of the review, it was confirmed that these two cartridges have proper testing/assembly equipment and reliable quality assurance system to start production.
Since the receiver cartridges will be installed in 66 ALMA antennas, a total of 73 sets (including spares) will be produced. Japan is in charge of manufacturing 3 types of receivers Bands 4, 8, and 10, which are all at the production phase. These high-precision receivers to detect faint radio waves from the universe are being produced one by one with the most careful attention.
