Professor Fukagawa Named to Forbes JAPAN’s "Women in Tech 30" 2024

In the November 2024 issue of Forbes JAPAN, Professor Misato Fukagawa, who serves as the East Asia Operations Manager of ALMA, has been named as one of the “Women in Tech 30” in 2024. This “Women in Tech 30” initiative by Forbes JAPAN aims to encourage those making an impact, support future development in the field, and provide role models for the next generation. Professor Fukagawa’s selection is based on her research on planetary system formation and her contributions to the international operations of the ALMA telescope.

The professor commented, “In the field of astronomy, although the proportion of women is still small, their numbers are increasing. They are making remarkable contributions in various areas, serving as a significant driving force behind the advancement of science and technology on astronomical observations. I look forward to working with even more women in the future.”
