A bazaar was held by the DiplomatsEWives Association in Santiago. The womens society of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) set up a booth in the bazaar, and the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) was also allowed to participate by special treatment, and introduced the collaborative activities and relations with ESO in ALMA. The picture shows the booth of the ESO womens society. They were very good at dealing with customers, while astronomers, in contrast, seemed to have a great deal of trouble selling goods to customers. The popular goods sold at the booth were ESO’s ball-point pens and magnets, and desk calendars. Expensive photo books also sold well. There was also participation of embassies from various countries; the Japanese Embassys booth attracted many visitors and the performance by the Embassy of Brazil was outstanding.
