Current Status of OSF

This picture was taken at the antenna assembly area of ALMA Operations Support Facility (OSF). These four antennas are ACA 12-m antennas designed by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ). The containers shown in the center are used as (from right) resting room, lavatory, NAOJs container, container for working staff, and storage. In the large building behind these containers, the antenna assembly is conducted for the U.S. National Radio Astronomical Observatory. Staff members in Atacama are actually studying the performance of the assembled and adjusted antenna, looking forward with great excitement to the day when the construction of ALMA is completed.
