In a factory in Fukushima Prefecture, high-precision microfabrication of waveguide components for ALMA Band 4 and Band 10 are being conducted. The picture shows the ALMA-J project members visiting the factory to check the implementation of quality control for the products. The ultra-fine fabrication of the components of Band 10 opened their eyes and brought a smile to their face. The diameter of the end mill which is used for this microfabrication in another factory in Adatara is 0.09 mm (equivalent to the thickness of a hair).
