From November 6 through 8, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) held a workshop for students and those engaged in scientific education and public outreach (EPO) at planetariums, public observatories, science museums, schools, and other educational institutions around Japan.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide people involved in EPO activities with information on latest astronomical achievements and to promote effective use of the obtained knowledge.

The workshop this year highlighted radio astronomy in association with the start of ALMA Early Scientific Observation from the end of September. At this three-day event, 10 lectures were delivered by front-line radio astronomers.
The participants of this workshop will convey this information to the people all around Japan who are interested in radio astronomy and ALMA.
