Antenna foundations at the Japanese antenna assembly site are almost completed at the Operations Support Facility (OSF). The picture shows one of the four antenna foundations, 8 m diameter each, where curing of three base plates for the tripod supporting structure is in process. Except for the molded piping area, the foundation is shaped by being fixed to the nearby bedrocks so as to maintain the required stability with less concrete. The center of the foundation is slightly mounded for water drainage. The orange pipes protruding from the foundation are used for power supply and signal transmission. Cable installation will be carried out at a later date.
