Between Chile and Japan, there is a 12-hour time difference in summer. For some days after just arriving in Chile from Japan, I often awaken before dawn. In the dawning sky, a gigantic Milky Way appeared behind thin clouds. Here in Chile, we can see the central region of the Galaxy (Milky Way) that can be rarely seen in Japan [Picture and texts provided by George Kosugi].
