TV crew of NHK and a popular TV personality Megumi Yasu visited NAOJ Mitaka Campus for the shooting of a TV program featuring Saturn. For this program, a specialist at NAOJ was asked some questions about space science by Megumi Yasu. The picture shows Tomohiko Sekiguchi (Research Expert at ALMA-J Project Office) checking the script nervously before the shooting. He explained the distance to Saturn and the formation theory of Saturn’s rings simply but enthusiastically. The picture shows Tomohiko Sekiguchi standing on the Solar System Walking Course in the exhibition area of Mitaka Campus. In this walking course, people can experience the distance and the size of the sun and planets with their model diminished to one 14 billionth of its original size. The course shows that the distance to Saturn is incomparably greater than that between the earth and the sun (about 10 times).
