A receiver system called front-endEwas installed in one of the ACA 12-m antennas at the Operations Support Facility (OSF). The Front End is a system to receive millimeter/submillimeter waves, weighing about 700 kg. It took half a day to carry it into the Receiver Cabin from a narrow approach with a crane. In the cabin, installation of the front-end was conducted through precise positioning. Since careful adjustment was required for installation, four people struggled all day in a confined space to settle it in a specified position. The picture shows the front-end being transported to the veranda (where a man is raising his right hand: in the upper right of the picture).
