From November 13 through 17, the International Conference titled “Science with ALMA: A New Era for Astrophysics” is being held in Madrid, Spain. The number of registrations reached 300, the capacity of the conference hall. The program of the first day of the conference consisted of the progress report on the ALMA project and discussion on the star formation. The picture shows Massimo Tarenghi, ALMA Project Director, reporting the progress of the ALMA Project at the outset of the conference on the first day. The conference hall was full with a near-capacity crowd even on the first day, which shows the high degree of expectations toward ALMA among researchers.
