On the second day of the International Conference “Science with ALMA” ,the topics related to the formation of stars and the planetary system and to the interstellar matters were discussed. The international conference, such as this, focused on the research themes of ALMA was held for the first time in about 7 years. And in the conference, specific research strategies are proposed citing some examples of the recent results achieved by the Submillimeter Array (SMA) in Hawaii and submillimeter telescopes in Chile including ASTE and APEX. The picture shows Dr. Sebastian Wolf at Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, talking about the detectability of protoplanets using ALMA, based on theoretical simulation.
