Nobeyama Open Campus

NRO (Nobeyama Radio Observatory) held its 2009 Open Campus on August 22, and this year’s open campus attracted 2704 visitors. The ALMA-J Project Office presented: mini-lectures; exhibitions of posters and a diorama; radio wave receiving simulation using small rubber balls; and Origami, etc. In addition to these, we built a “Milky Way Arch” with a large photo of a myriad of stars, so that people can enjoy the beautiful Chilean starry sky. The picture shows Takeshi Nakazato, Research Expert at the ALMA-J Project Office, explaining the Chilean sky at the “Milky Way Arch.”
