An archeological museum was established by the roadside between the Operations Support Facility (OSF) and Array Operation Site (AOS), and its opening ceremony was held on July 27. This museum was opened to preserve giant cactus native to this region and an archeological habitation site unearthed during construction of ALMA. Ryusuke Ogasawara, legal representative of National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) in Chile, attended the ceremony on behalf of NAOJ. The picture shows the governor of the second region of Chile, Marcela Hernando, delivering a congratulatory speech.
