Otaka-san is a woman introduced in letters column of the Asahi Shimbun of May 12. She has worked as a lathe operator for 30 years, and her friend wrote a letter to the newspaper about her enthusiasm for her recent work related to ALMA. We found that she is working in Kawasaki for a manufacture of receiver components integrated into the ALMA antennas and then invited her to NAOJ in Mitaka. After the tour to the manufacturing site of ALMA, she said with starry eyes, I was wondering what kind of product it would be while I am manufacturing. Now I am very motivated to know that it will be used for such wonderful equipment.EThe picture shows Otaka-san (second right) looking at the internal structure of a receiver sensor with microscope monitor.
