On May 22, a lecture titled “Lecture on the Stars” was held at Katsushika City Museum in Tokyo.
Dr. Ken’ichi Tatematsu, Japanese ALMA Project Director of NAOJ explained about the universe observed at radio wavelengths, the construction status of ALMA, and the mysteries of the universe to be raveled with ALMA. After the lecture, the audience asked him many questions, not only about ALMA but astronomical observations, radio waves, and other astronomical topics as well.
The picture below was taken during the lecture when the image of starry skies at the ALMA Observatory in Chile was projected on the screen of the Museum’s planetarium. (Picture provided by Katsushika City Museum)
