SKA Workshop

Japan Radio Astronomy Forum and Nobeyama Radio Observatory held a two-day joint symposium for SKA project on February 1 and 2. SKA is a project targeting frequency bands lower than those of ALMA. At the symposium, participants discussed a wide range of issues such as its scientific goals and relations with future projects for other frequency bands including ALMA. The picture shows Ryohei Kawabe explaining the difference of stance between Europe/North America supporting both of ALMA and SKA and Japan participating in ALMA only.
