SOKENDAI Future Scientist Award Given to Kyoko Onishi

Kyoko Onishi, a student at the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI) who conducts research at the NAOJ Chile Observatory, won the SOKENDAI Future Scientist Award. The Award was newly established last year to encourage the research by the SOKENDAI students who aspire to be a scientist. Onishi has become the winner of the second year.

Receiving the award, Onishi says, “I am glad to have the opportunity to carry out the research with the most advanced radio telescope ALMA, which led to this award. I am grateful to my supervisor and all the staff at the NAOJ Chile Observatory for supporting my research. For achieving further scientific results, I will continuously devote my efforts to my research work and build a fulfilling student life.”

2nd SOKENDAI Future Scientist Award:
Kyoko Onishi (studying astronomy at the School of Physical Science, the Graduate University for Advanced Studies)
