The warm spring has come to our NAOJ Mitaka Campus and the weeping cherry trees in the campus will soon be in full bloom. The picture shows a weeping cherry tree which has started to bloom in the southern side of the North Building. As the Mitaka Campus is located in the area with many trees, the temperature is slightly lower than that of the central Tokyo, and thus the cherry blossom usually start to bloom a few weeks late. The ALMA-J Project members expect that the cherry blossoms will be in full bloom around the weekend of next week because the ALMA Board meeting will be held next week in Japan and the Board members will visit Mitaka Campus.
