On March 13, after the close of the ALMA Board, a party was held at the Japanese ambassadors residence in Santiago to welcome Director General of NAOJ, Shoken Miyama, by inviting some ALMA project members, ambassadors of other countries, people from the Chilean Foreign Ministry, etc. In the party, Mr. Hayashi, Japanese ambassador to Chile, introduced Japanese astronomersEactivities in Chile, and Director General Miyama made a speech wishing support from various quarters for future observation with ALMA for over 30 years. The party was short but meaningful to obtain broader understanding for the ALMA project.
