From July 3 through 4, “Nobeyama Radio Observatory in the Past Quarter Century and Future of Radio Astronomy” was held at the Mitaka Campus. This is a workshop to commemorate the retirement of the former ALMA-J Project Director, Professor Masato Ishiguro, who made a great contribution to the establishment of the Nobeyama Radio Observatory (NRO) and to the ALMA Project. In the workshop, many invitees from Japan and abroad gave talks on the history and future of radio astronomy. The picture shows Masato Ishiguro talking about his history as a radio astronomer.
