On November 14, the Japan Institute of Light Metals (JILM) forum was held at the University of Electro-Communications. At the forum, Masao Saito (Assistant Professor) gave a lecture titled “The role of light metals in the latest astronomical observation technology and the forefront of the star and planetary formation study.” Although the lecture was given at a symposium that is not directly related to astronomy, participants listened to the lecture very attentively from beginning to end. The picture shows Masao Saito talking about the relation between light metals and astronomy and the targets of ALMA.
