All three types of 12-m antennas have been installed at the ALMA Operations Support Facility (OSF) at 2900 m asl. Each antenna was manufactured by North America (left), Japan (center), and Europe (right) with slightly different design.
These antennas are different in shape, but they demonstrate the same observing capabilities. They meet the same ALMA specifications (surface accuracy and drive performance, etc) by different approaches conceived by researchers and engineers of each region.
The North American antenna in this photo is the last antenna (#25) delivered by North America.
