From November 19 through 21, an event to promote science education “Science Agora 2010” was held at the Tokyo International Exchange Center and the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. As part of the event, NAOJ public lectures were given under the title of “the Mysteries of the Universe to be Explored by the ALMA Telescope” at the Tokyo International Exchange Center. The lecturers were Satoru Iguchi, East-Asia ALMA Project Manager (NAOJ), Masao Saito, East-Asia ALMA Project Scientist (NAOJ), and Kengo Tachihara, ALMA Commissioning Scientist (JAO), who are active on the front line of the ALMA Project. They explained the ALMA Telescope under construction and talked about the mysteries of the universe to be unlocked by the ALMA.
