From March 22 through 24, ALMA Board meeting was held at Kyoto Research Park for the first time in Japan. Norio Kaifu, Director General of NAOJ, attended the meeting as a board member on behalf of Japan, with other ALMA-J representatives including Masato Ishiguro (ALMA-J Project Director) and Tetsuo Hasegawa (ALMA-J Project Manager). In the meeting, we had the progress report of the construction and development of ALMA, and discussed plans for local employment in Chile and specific plans for joint construction.
