On April 21, Mitaka Network University held a popular event called “Astronomy Pub” in the aim of promoting communication between citizens and researchers. In the event, the host Professor Masato Ishiguro (ALMA-J Project Director) talked with a special guest Tamio Miyake (Executive Announcer at the NHK) for about an hour under the theme of “Learn from ‘Radiowave’- the Universe, Broadcast and Life-”. Participants paid close attention to the lively discussion on radiowave-related topics, ranging from electric appliances like TVs and radios to the latest astronomical radio observational instrument like ALMA, which is under construction in the Andes.
